Tanara Smith - Associate Architect
"With rare exceptions, all of your most important achievements on this planet will come from working with others - or, in a word, partnership"-Dr. Paul Farmer
Born and raised in Cabool, Missouri, Tanara was taught by her family to “make do” and experiment with whatever materials she had on hand—whether that meant digging up clay from the ground for her ceramics, crushing plants and minerals to create paints, or, more recently, using her everyday trash to build sculptures.
Architecture for Tanara is a natural extension of this mindset. It’s the craft of shaping space through curiosity - of working with the land, not just on it. Her process is rooted in material exploration, environmental awareness, and a belief that constraints are where creativity begins. With every project, she chases the same thrill she found as a child: the joy of discovery, the excitement of asking “what if?”
